#2 Peak District Bucket List – Bosley Cloud, Congleton

Bosley Cloud

It’s time for Number 2 on our Peak District Bucket List. This one is right on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park in Congleton, with a walk up the Bosley Cloud.

If you park at Timbersbrook Picnic Site, the walk up to the Cloud is self explanatory. Follow signs to the Gritstone Trail and the National Trust signs for The Cloud, and after a good mile or so you will come to the open top area of the Bosley Cloud. Follow the path up to the trig point, where there is likely to be a good amount of walkers / mountain bikers at the top of the hill, where the views are phenomenal across Cheshire and Stafforshire. Jodrell Bank and Rudyard Lake are highlights of the view. On a clear day Manchester’s skyline can be seen quite clearly. The trig point is 343 metres high; the walk is fairly steep in places and can be quite muddy during certain times of the year, so walking boots are advised.

There are several paths back down the cloud to where you started from, so pick one of the paths and enjoy your walk back to the Picnic Site.
