Taking centre stage for number 7 is Chatsworth Gardens, Bakewell.
Chatsworth is indisputably the jewel in the crown of the Peak District. Home to the Cavendish family since the 16th Century, Chatsworth House is a magnificent English country house set in over 1,000 acres of parkland, with over 100 acres of stunning formal gardens, a farmyard and children’s adventure playground, as well as cafés and gift shops.
Chatsworth is deservedly top of the list of attractions for visitors to the Peak District National Park, and there is more than enough to keep the whole family occupied for a full day here. The Gardens are very picturesque and are well maintained throughout the year and they are well worth a visit for £14 entry. Entry to the house and garden is the ultimate trip out for £24, where you will be able to marvel at the marvellous interior design within the House. Our pictures on the day do the inside of the building no justice, so check them out on the Chatsworth website by clicking here. However, if you’re looking for a more cost effective day out then it isn’t necessary to enter the house or garden themselves, as the surrounding area is stunning and well worth a trip in itself.
Do ensure you book your slot for the Gardens and House. If you’ve not got a ticket and you visit on a busy day, then I’m afraid you’re not going in! Booking is really straightforward via the Chatsworth website – https://www.chatsworth.org/visit-us/book-tickets/
It’s best to save this one for a day when the sun is shining to make the most of this experience in the heart of the Peak District.
